On behalf of the Organizers, we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend ILSI's First International Conference on Nutrigenomics - Opportunities in Asia to be held from December 7-9, 2005 at the Raffles City Convention Center, Singapore. You are also warmly welcome to participate in the pre-conference seminar titled 'Fundamentals of Nutrigenomics - An Introductory Module' which will be offered on December 6, 2005.
This Conference will be the first in Asia to provide a comprehensive and an up-to-date overview of this new frontier of nutritional science. The role of ethnic diversity and genetic adaptation in determining nutrient requirements of individuals throughout the life-cycle, and the latest scientific findings on mechanisms of nutrient-gene interactions, with a special focus on the dietary patterns of Asian populations, will be addressed at this meeting by internationally renowned experts in the field. Challenges in the potential application of nutrigenomics to improve the nutritional value of the food supply and to address public health issues in Asia will also be discussed.
The three-day scientific program includes plenary presentations, satellite symposia, a workshop, and poster sessions. There will also be a display that showcases the accomplishments of collaborating organizations. The Conference will provide multiple opportunities for experts and participants to share perspectives, address challenges, discuss strategies, and develop collaborative programs to deliver nutritious food to targeted population groups.
We look forward to your participation at this important Conference in the unique and exciting city-state-Singapore.
